PSYCHIC ARTS, THE PARANORMAL

MOON MAGIC

Posted by cathycox - August 5th, 2009

If you do even the most basic google search on writings about the moon, you will be astonished. The moon, it would seem, has inspired poets and musicians over time, and in every culture. Mythological language, the visual languages of painting and photography - the sheer volume of art, music and literature would suggest that the moon has a particular capacity to affect us deeply, right to the core of our beings.

Obviously science tells us that the moon has a direct impact on the earth through the ebb and flow of tides, and its cycles are studied by astronomers and astrologers alike. Is this the answer? Is this why the moon has such a mysterious effect upon us? Maybe the waters of our bodies are effected just as the tides…

Perhaps that happens, but I personally believe that the Moon is far more mysterious than that! Science and the knowledge gained from gazing through a telescope, don’t explain why the moon is so powerfully reflected in archetypal symbolism. The moon is rich with imagery of the feminine - the receptive moon, absorbing and reflecting the light of the sun, her lover. But I would encourage you to look a little more closely at the moon, listen that little bit more intently - you’ll begin to realize that all that poetry and music and art isn’t just an expression of archetypal symbolism….

For me, the moon is a sentient being - she has her own soul, her own voice, which speaks to us directly. The universe is indeed a very rich and wonderful place, and the moon is a very powerful lady, a friend in the night, who watches over the earth and offers a vibration of constancy and safety while we sleep. Her light is soft and comforting, she speaks directly to our hearts. She sings too, and her song awakens that part of our spirit which knows how to heal and regenerate for the new day. The moon reassures us, and lets us know that everything will somehow be alright.

Some things can only be seen by moonlight - her softness awakens a kind of knowing which goes beyond conceptual thinking. She inspires trust, and that part of our mind where dreams emerge, possibilities and inventions are born, and hope awakens for the new day. Moonlight can seep into all the nooks and crannies of our consciousness, our ‘heart-mind’. The moon’s light is so gentle and persistent, that it will keep seeping into and through our dreams, until we are ready to bring that awareness to fullness in our conscious minds. The moon is the mother of repetitive dreams, the one who quietly but persistently presents us with knowledge we need. She softens the more frightening or disturbing parts of ourselves, and smoothes the rough edges, until those parts can be dissolved and integrated more deeply into our psyches.

The moon has moods, but not quite like a woman! Her voice changes its quality with each phase. She is very quiet, even inward looking when in her ‘new moon’ phase. And she walks confidently through her phases until she emerges, abundant and over flowing at ‘Full Moon’. This is when her heart is given full voice, when she opens herself fully to the sun, and offers that light, golden and warm and abundant, to all of us here on the earth. Somehow, even when it is cloudy, her voice is still there. She peaks out from behind scattered cloud, and reminds us that light penetrates even the darkest night. And then, just as nature understands in autumn, she relaxes back to her quieter self, as she wanes again through her diminishing phases. This isn’t a sad time for her, but a peaceful time - she knows that she will soon open again in the right time.

Most importantly, the Moon helps us to embrace the mystery of the universe. She sings and reminds us of the parts of our stories in the past - she creates a passage to the resources of our past, the knowledge and wisdom of our past lives, our accumulated and shared experiences. She is a communicator of hope because she forgets nothing, and helps us to remember the depths of our soul and the extraordinary abundance of that shared place.

Is it any wonder that she has inspired so many and been honored so deeply throughout the human story?

PSYCHIC ARTS

TUNING INTO YOUR INNER PSYCHIC

Posted by gayewright - August 5th, 2009

I’m sure that some of you have been told already about your own personal psychic ability, even though you’re the one having the psychic reading. Psychics often pick up on their client’s psychic or healing ability as part of the general open environment of a genuine psychic reading. I know this has happened many times with me over the years. It stands to reason that if you’re having a psychic reading, then there’s a great likelihood that you believe in psychic readings, and that you’re open to your own intuition and subconscious power.

Having a psychic reading often confirms what you have already felt in your own subconscious, or what your intuition has been telling you.

It’s really important to acknowledge this. The more you are aware of the power of your own personal intuition, the more real knowledge will come forth from the shared subconscious between you and your psychic. The old saying about two minds being better than one is certainly true about psychic readings. In fact, I do say that quite often in a psychic reading there are many minds working together! Sometimes it feels like there’s a crowd! At one stage in my psychic career, I remember asking one of my personal spirit guides why there were so many North American Indian spirits coming through in my psychic readings. It felt as if every second person had a North American Indian spirit guide. The explanation I got was that, in their spiritual tradition, there are many spirit guides to help many people because that is part of their lineage and destiny to unite all people at all levels of life and living. North American Indian spirit guides are very open hearted in offering their services to the world!

But I digress. It’s about how your psychic ability can help you to have a more creative life. It Doesn’t mean you have to become a professional psychic or even tell anyone about it. It means being more confident about using your own intuition to navigate your way more knowingly through your day and through your life. It takes the doubt out of your decision-making processes. You don’t have to keep looking to other people to confirm your decisions. You become more assured of what you know to be the truth for you. It takes life out of the struggle and into the flow.

When you know something, you know it. There is no need to debate it, question at, or struggle with it. You may do these things but it’s not necessary. Knowing goes deeper than what happens in your head, or what comes from someone else’s head. Knowing has a logic of its own. Knowing is what happens when your intuition is allowed to flow through to its own logical conclusion. The main blockage in this process is your impatience.

So how do you relax into the knowing process, and give up the struggle to be one step ahead of the crowd, whatever that means? How do you become that calm, peaceful person who can let the truth come to the surface in its own way and its own time? How do you allow your inner psychic to help and support you?

Take, for example, a relationship situation where you’re going through rocky times with a partner, a potential partner, or a family member or friend. You might be suffering the anguish of a break-up. Your head is spinning out of control trying to work out how to fix things or at least get some different understanding. It might be a case of just trying to get through the day. Doubt is running the show In the face of unresolved conflict. Or downright despair is chasing after you every minute of every day. What can you do to at least feel calmer so you can see things from a more positive perspective?

This is where head logic lets you down because the reality of what is going on in your head communicates a more negative message than positive. You have to be strong not to go along with what your head is telling you and try to see things from a broader perspective that takes your gut feelings into account. This is where you connect with your inner psychic.

You don’t discount the reality of what is going on at the time but you have faith in those deeper feelings coming to the surface in their own way and in their own time. This is how intuition works and it has a power and a process of its own that works best when you relax and trust in those deeper connections and vibrations. It’s amazing how things work out very differently  what you imagine or what your head works out for you. Your inner psychic knows the truth from a different angle. The truth is more likely to emerge when all levels of your consciousness are working together, which is what happens when you accept and welcome your intuition into your decision making processes. I am not saying that you will always get what you want but you will be happier in the long run.

So, if you now feel inspired to free up your inner psychic more consciously and willingly, get yourself a pack of Tarot cards, ( if you don’t already have one ), and start communicating with your intuition and those deeper subconscious realms of your mind. Let yourself be amazed at how much knowing you really have and how powerful a tool that knowing is. A more creative life is very close at hand!
